Last year, Reebok and the FTC reached an agreement, where they had to pay back consumers $25 million.  Recently, the FTC has ordered Sketchers to pay consumers around $50 million in refunds for the Sketchers Shape-ups.  The commission was particularly turned off by an ad the said an independent chiropractic study found the shoes to aid in toning and weight loss.  Turns out, that so-called study was done by a chiropractor married to a Sketchers marketing executive.

Kim Kardashian,  famously,  endorsed Sketchers Shape – Ups for a year.  Friends say she believed in the shoes.    However, as time went on, she started to hear things about the shoes not working and quieted down about the shoes.

An insider says…

“There is just too much going on for her right now. She regrets she can’t stay on the show. It’s been an incredible experience and she is forever grateful that she did it.”

Sketchers has to pay out 40 million bucks and full refunds for lying about their fitness shoes giving you a better butt. The Federal Trade Commision has discovered that they deceived people with false clinical studies. Kim Kardashian was their main mouthpiece for these lies.

With $52 million in earnings over the last year, Lopez is raking in the bucks, but according to the magazine her power has more to do with her growing resume. Along with her gig on Idol–where she raked in a cool 2 million for season two–she reignited her singing career with 2011′s Love?, which featured her hit single “On the Floor.” She heads back to the big screen with the pregnancy comedy, What To Expect When You’re Expecting this weekend, but has dominated the small screen with commercials for L’Oreal, Gillette and Fiat. And even teamed up with her ex-husband Marc Anthony for the Latin talent competition show, Q’Viva: The Chosen.

If that wasn’t enough, any one of J.Lo’s over 7 million Twitter followers (yes, a strong social media presence makes you powerful too) looking to cop her style can check out her new clothing line at Kohl’s and then pick up Glow or one of her 17 other fragrances.

The magazine points out that Idol helped revive Lopez’s career after she stumbled with 2006′s El Cantante, which featured ex-hubbie Marc Anthony, and Como Ama una Mujerand, the all-Spanish album she released in 2007.  But the judge, who’s touring this summer with Enrique Iglesias, says it might be time to call it quits.

“I miss doing other things,” she said on Ellen this week. “It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three and four.”

But now that her twins, Max and Emme, are getting ready to go to school the single mom doesn’t know if staying on for season three is a good fit.

With nearly two years under her belt, Lopez has learned a few things and recently shared some sound advice with the new X Factor judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, who plans to look good for her TV debut.

“You don’t have to be tough,” she told Access Hollywood. “There’s not one way to do that, reality TV, and those competition shows [are] about being yourself. It’s about being your best self, and I think that’s the most important thing.”

She also paid the two ladies a few compliments saying, “I was like, ‘Live TV! Eek.’ It’s a big thing to take on, but I think they’re both more than capable to handle it.”

Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, who held the top spot in 2011, join Lopez on this year’s Forbes Celebrity 100 list.

“It’s mad that we got to this point. That’s why I came home and went straight onto the web cam because I thought that it was important that we went on and said hi to the fans and thank you very much for getting us to where we are because it’s literally all about the fans.”
