Dictionary.com’s Word Of The Year

Dictionary.com just announced that their word of the year.

So what did Dictionary.com pick as their “Word of the Year” for 2o16? “Xenophobia” of course. Dictonary.com defines xenophobia as “fear or hatred of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers.”

Earlier this month, the Oxford Dictionaries chose “post-truth”, an adjective used for situations “in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.”
