Thanksgiving meals can be filled with lots of fattening items, but there are a bunch of Thanksgiving foods that are good for you.
Check out the four best:
- Turkey – Turkey is one of the healthiest meats and it’s totally fat-free. It’s a great source of protein. To avoid loads of salt, prepare the turkey in low sodium chicken broth.
- Cranberries – Cranberries are considered a healthy super-food. They are loaded with antioxidants and nutrients, so they help prevent ulcers and infections. They also have tons of vitamins.
- Sweet potatoes – They are rich in fiber and minerals, so they are better for you than regular mashed potatoes. Avoid the butter and marshmallows to keep them healthy.
- Apple pie – Apples are full of vitamins and fiber. They usually have a bunch of spices that are filled with health benefits. If you make it with wheat crust, it’s better for you. Avoid the whipped cream or ice cream.
