Bold and beautiful statement stud earrings are my favorite trend happening right now. They are absolutely perfect for these cold days when you’re bundling up and trying to cover as much skin as possible and then some. A large pair of statement studs, in colors ranging from brilliant white to large clusters of colorful stones, this trend is the perfect accent for any winter look.

Whether you choose more simple studs or go with something a little more daring, a set of statement studs will instantly make any look more sophisticated and pulled-together. These studs can be the perfect amount of dazzle to add to even the messiest of up-dos for an instant touch of elegance and glam.

Statement stud earrings have been consistently spotted on celebrities year-round whether they’re shopping around NYC or arriving at the 47th annual Country Music Awards, like Jennifer Nettles who rocked the bold white gold studs to complete one of the best red carpet looks this season.  They are seen everywhere because they can be worn absolutely everywhere, since studs are a rare breed of jewelry that complement perfectly not only any hairstyle but also any neckline.

Since statement studs are bigger and bolder than a small round-shaped stud and thus draw more attention to the face, it becomes more important to consider the shape that best complements your face. The rule states that you want to pick a shape that is the opposite of your face shape i.e. if you have a square or rectangular shaped face, when adding bold studs, you should aim for some curves like a round or oval shape. Vice versa the rounder face shapes should try to find sharp edges and square-shaped studs.

Also, as we mentioned in a previous post, when wearing heavier earrings, it can be wise to wear ear stabilizers or Lobe Wonder support patches that work as a second layer to your skin for a snug and secure fit around the post.

Until next time – shine on,
