I read an article online about the things we buy during our work career. Things like coffee, lunch, snacks, etc. It’s depressing to see how much money is spent on those items.
A recent study broke it all down. They said the average worker spends $11.84 every day on coffee, lunch, and snacks. That is $2,782.40 a year. Over the course of a 47-year career, that total then becomes $130,772.80.
Think about it this way, if you have an average salary of $65,000 a year in your career, you waste two full years of salary on eating at work!
In the past, I used to go to lunch every day and I knew that was hitting my wallet hard. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about that because I am working during lunch time. I bring my lunch 95% of the time. I also make my own coffee at home, so I avoid getting any at the gas station.
Are you guilty of going to lunch every day and buying coffee every day?
