You know your employees are angry when you send out a memo and it gets leaked to the world.  Last week, Yahoo’s new CEO, Marissa Mayer sent out a memo informing employees that they all must come to the office to be credited with a day of work, beginning in June.  This means, no more working from home.

I’m scratching my head a bit because if ever there was a job that you didn’t need to come to the office, it may be one that involved the internet!  Marissa’s reasoning for this demand is that the best ideas come from chats around the water cooler or conversation between co-workers in their cubicles.

Someone tweeted today, “Hey, Marissa – 1980 called, they want their work environment back.”

Do you think this is unfair?

Marissa Mayer is the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
