Last month Skylar Grey debuted her new single “C’mon Let Me Ride” featuring Eminem. A tongue-in-cheek track, Skylar said it’s just an introduction of what’s to come from her upcoming album, which she’s working with Em to complete.

Though it’s not her first time in the studio with the rapper, she recalled their initial meeting.

“I was really nervous when I first met him but then I came to realize that he’s super cool,” she told Radio.com. “He makes fun of me and makes me laugh a lot.”

Eminem is executive producing Skylar’s album which means he’s overseeing things like helping her pick the songs.

“That can be a tough thing to do when you write a lot of songs. And then making suggestions of where he thinks I can improve bits,” she said. “[He's] doing whatever he thinks will add to the project. It’s awesome to have somebody there that I can trust to bounce stuff off of and get good feedback.”

We already got a preview of Skylar’s release from her new song but she said things won’t stop there.

“‘C’mon Let Me Ride’ is the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more beneath it,” she said. “A lot of people know me for doing melancholy, sad hooks and you’ll hear some of that stuff too. But, for once I just wanted to do something fun and that’s what this single is.”
