I know some people may not care about different charts and where songs rank on those charts, but I consider myself to be a music geek. It’s my job to know about music, so I enjoy reading about current and past songs that have done well.
Billboard.com has put together a list of the Top 100 Pop songs over the past 20 years. It was compiled based on actual chart performance. Check out the Top Ten:
- Goo Goo Dolls – “Iris” (1998)
- Real McCoy – “Another Night” (1994)
- Timbaland featuring OneRepublic – “Apologize” (2008)
- Lifehouse – “Hanging By a Moment” (2001)
- Santanta featuring Rob Thomas – “Smooth” (1999)
- Savage Garden – “Truly Madly Deeply” (1998)
- No Doubt – “Don’t Speak” (1996)
- 3 Doors Down – “Here Without You” (2003)
- Goo Goo Dolls – “Slide” (1999)
- Kelly Clarkson – “Since U Been Gone” (2005)
There are a few in the Top 10 that I am not a fan of, (but I won’t say which ones:). I don’t want to hurt any one’s feelings.
