No matter what your party affiliation, this video of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords reciting The Pledge of Allegiance is pretty remarkable.
On January 8, 2011, Giffords was a victim of a shooting near Tucson, Arizona where she was meeting publicly with constituents.
She was critically injured by a gunshot wound to the head.
Giffords was later brought to a rehabilitation facility in Houston, Texas, where she recovered some of her ability to walk, speak, read and write.
Earlier this year, Giffords announced that she would be resigning from her congressional seat in order to concentrate on recovering from her wounds, but promised to return to public service in the future.
Her rendition of The Pledge last night was inspiring to say the least.
