Matthew McConaughey has lost his trademark muscles and washboard abs for an upcoming role. Many were shocked to see pictures of Matthew McConaughey looking ill. Turns out he’s lost at least 15 pounds, and has another 15 to go by mid-September for the film “The Dallas Buyers Club”.
Matthew plays a man suffering from AIDS, and told Larry King:
I’m playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn’t. For me, it’s more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I’ll get down to the weight I need to get to. I’m on my way, and it’s what I need to do for the job.
I don’t know how he can do it (I love food too much!), but Matthew’s been drinking a lot of tea & says it’s a “spiritual cleanse, mental cleanse” for him. Now THAT’S some willpower!
“The Dallas Buyers Club” is based on the real story of Ron Woodruff, who had HIV in the ’80s, and smuggled alternative medicines into the U.S. from Mexico.
People became concerned when they saw McConaughey on the streets of New York filming a new Martin Scorsese film. The film, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, stars Matthew, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Jean Dujardin (“The Artist”).
