From the 1940′s to present day, check out the eight actors who have worn Batman’s cape and cowl on the screen.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is supposed to be CHRISTIAN BALE’S last movie as Batman. But it definitely won’t be the last Batman movie ever, and a new actor will eventually take his place.

That will make him the NINTH actor to play a live-action version of Batman since the character was created in the 1939.

The others, in order, are Lewis Wilson in 1943, Robert Lowery in 1949, Adam West in the ’60s, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney in the ’80s and ’90s, Bruce Thomas on the 2002 TV show “Birds of Prey”, and Christian Bale.
