This morning, I had a chance to speak with Dr. Nancy Holekamp and Leslie Morris.

Dr. Nancy Holekamp is with the Pepose Vision Institute.  She is an expert in macular degeneration and is the Medical Chair for the St. Louis VisionWalk this year.

Leslie Morris is the St. Louis Chapter leader for Foundation Fighting Blindness.  Leslie’s son, Jack, is 9 years old and was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa just before his 6th birthday.

Dining in the Dark is an event happening on May 16 at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac and it’s a distinctive sensory awareness experience for guests.

The St. Louis 5k VisionWalk is Sunday, September 23 at Tower Grove Park and it’s a great way for people to get involved and take action in the fight against blindness.
